We Offer All Of Our Products In Three Distinct Styles.

Wood

We offer all of our wood products in two available thicknesses. Our wood menu covers are manufactured using an 1/8" thick material to keep the overall thickness to a minimum, while our wood menu boards, check presenters, and table tents, are made using a thicker, 1/4" wood. However, since all of our products are made to order, you are welcome to choose whichever material thickness will work best for you. We keep seven different types of wood in stock, and all of the finishes and colors come from the natural finish of each hardwood species. We try to avoid using stains because they can often appear blotchy and unprofessional, except in certain situations where a unique color is required. We simply sand the pieces until they are buttery smooth and then spray them with three coats of semi-gloss spar-urethane. The spar-urethane is perfect for preventing damage from liquids or stains, and also offers UV protection so your custom wood menu covers will look like new, even when they are not.

Traditional Turned Edge

Even though you might have never heard the term "turned edge", it is the most common method of manufacturing menu covers, menu boards, and check presenters, and is probably what you have seen in most restaurants. The process involves wrapping and laminating a thin material known as book cloth around chipboard or binders board. The quality of both the book cloth and chipboard used is essential for creating not only attractive, but durable products. Marquee Menus' uses the densest chipboard available, which produces extremely ridged covers and boards. A more rigid product not only looks and feels better to hold, but is much less likely to be damaged from dropping and heavy use over time. The book cloth that you choose for the outside of the cover is available in numerous materials and colors, and every option that we sell is coated in an aqueous acrylic coating. This coating is essential for protecting against damage from liquids and stains. We have made available a number of material options directly on our website, however, there are just far too many for us to display all of them. If you are looking for something different or can't find something you like on our site, just let us know. We work closely with multiple vendors so its very likely we have what you need. Turned edge menu covers are a modern, clean, and sophisticated way to present your menu to your guest.

Thick Slab Leather

Our thick, slab leather products are crafted by using heavy, 1/8" thick leather and omitting the chipboard entirely. Our slab leather menu boards are made by taking two pieces of the thick leather and simply laminating them together so both sides of the menu board have the same leather finish. Once the two pieces of 1/8" thick material are laminated and sewn together, the resulting product is slightly flexible, while still being able to support itself under its own weight. Our slab leather covers are made in much the same way, either laminated together with two pieces of thick leather, or if a contrasting material is preferred, we can use one of our many book cloth options for the inside. The added stitching not only adds to the durability, but also offers an additional way to customize the product by using contrasting stitching colors, often chosen to match the logo foil color. Our thick slab leather menu covers, menu boards, and check presenters are perfect for a more rustic feel, and are inherently durable due to the simplicity of the design.
